For Thinking Visual 2014, Mobile Art School proposed a new type of residency within Blessington Community College, where artists John Beattie, Sven Anderson and project curator Jennie Guy worked with transition year students to explore activities that lie between producing new artwork and developing a conceptual framework within which to present it.

Following a set of artist-led workshops in 2012 Mobile Art School continued its work at St. Catherine’s National School in Rush, County Dublin with Rhona Byrne as artist-in-residence between April 2013 and May 2014.

In 2012 Mobile Art School brought nine artists to do a series of artist-led workshops with one 5th class in St. Catherine’s National School in Rush, county Dublin. The artists participating in this programme included Ruth Lyons, Isabel Nolan, Felicity Clear, Sven Anderson, Tamarin Norwood, Emma Haugh, Mark Garry, Michelle Browne, and Vera Klute.

The result was a collaboration between the artists Stephen Brandes and Russell Hart who, using vinyl records bought in charity shops as the base materials, devised a set of two workshops to be experienced in sequence.
